With this in mind, in this module, we will focus on how to understand the power of the presidential office by using C-SPAN’s presidential greatness measure to evaluate the current incumbent’s performance over the last year. C-SPAN created a rubric (Links to an external site.) and asks experts (political scientists, presidential historians, etc) to use that rubric to rank all US presidents from the “greatest” to the “not so great” (see video below).
